Founded in 1824 — Portugal's first porcelain manufacturer. Its tableware has graced royal courts and palaces; every piece carries two centuries of inherited craftsmanship.

In the Minho tradition, a girl of courting age would embroider a handkerchief of fine linen — a lenço dos namorados — and send it to her chosen suitor. Vila Verde carries those embroidered motifs, in the green of the town's own name, onto Vista Alegre porcelain.
